Concerning Paul's post about things in TAGS that do not make sense:
One thing in TAGS that I have always thought did not make any sense occurred
in the episode "The Gypsies". After the gypsies cause the rain to stop for a
few weeks, the Taylors are eating a meal and Aunt Bee is complaining about the
high cost of lettuce. Aunt Bee blames the high cost of lettuce on the
drought. No one seems to give it a second thought. But if you think about
it:
1. The drought had only been on for a few weeks, so it would not have
affected produce as of yet.
2. Lettuce is not commonly grown in North Carolina, most of it in the 60's
came from California, so the drought in North Carolina would not affect the
price of lettuce.
3. If lettuce was really so expensive, buy something different.
When I watched this episode of TAGS, I always thought this scene did not make
any sense.
