Barney's Car is just loaded with things that don't make sense. Barney paid cash but didn't ask for a receipt. How did Mrs. Lesch know for certain Barney was going to buy the car so she had her nephew pick her up at the church? Why wouldn't she bring the car's title when she was planning on selling it.
Then Barney and Andy are returning Barney's Car to Mrs. Lesch. Just how were they planning on returning to Mayberry? Also, why were they both sitting in the back seat when the wrecker towed them away? And how did they know where to find Mrs. Lesch as she certainly wouldn't have used her real name if she was selling stolen cars and broken down cars? And finally, why in the world would Andy and Barney even try to drive that car back to Mt. Pilot when it had so many things wrong with it. Why just that steering column alone would have been something.
