My grandfather had a 1950 Chevy pickup named Maude. Every time he would down shift on a hill and the truck would strain, he would say, "Come on Maude" and she would pull the hill. Didn't Aunt Bee mention a Maudie in Mayberry? When the '50 Chevy died he replaced it with a 1952 Dodge. Guess what he named the Dodge.......you got it......Maude. Harry in Salem, VA
