Mayberry seemed to have a lot of new businesses opening up creating jobs for some and investments for others. There was the Chinese Restaurant, The (Counterfeit) Printing Co. , the new Meat Market, the Laundromat, Bert's "this and that" stand, Opie's Lemonade Stand. Then, we had Barney selling real estate on the side, Howard buying the lease to the Barber Shop, and Goober buying Wally's Gas Station. I am sure there are a lot more.
