Has anyone seen Bernice from the beauty shop recently? I have a bone to pick with her because she sent my wife home wearing a hideous red wig. My wife wouldn't have even considered it if she hadn't been at the beauty shop when Aunt Bee was getting fitted for her wig. Andy might have caved into Helen and let Aunt Bee go ahead and attend to the reception for Rev. Leighton, but I put my foot down and told her we weren't going out and having everyone starting at us. Plus Opie said he liked Aunt Bee's wig, but my kids didn't say a word when they saw the one my wife was wearing.
Floyd might think that a Chinese lady lost a nice head of hair with Aunt Bee's wig, but he didn't see that thing on my wife's head. It's our turn to have Rev. Leighton over for supper tonight so I'll have to try to explain why we didn't come to his reception. The nice thing is that we can just be ourselves as he mentioned in his message to us last Sunday, and we won't have to play all those cat & mouse (wig & mirror) games in case he shows up for supper early. I will likely just try to drop by the beauty shop and see if I can catch Bernice. I'll have to remember to check around the back of the shop as I'm pretty sure she still lives in the back. I considered calling her but what I have to say to her isn't fit for Sarah to hear and blab around town.
