I'm reading Talk of the Town (A Welcome To Daily, TX book 1) on my Kindle. One of the characters is a Hollywood type who describes Daily as "town that looked like Mayberry-well-preserved-on-a-studio-backlot". Even the town deputy is Barney like, handcuffing innocent people, locking his keys in the squad car, etc. it's so nice to see Mayberry mentioned in a positive way.
Another mention when Mandalay (the Hollywood type starts thinking about her boss and why she was sent to Daily in the firts place. "You’ve dropped me on a secret reconnaissance mission into The Andy Griffith Show. Barney and Gomer just finished hanging Amber’s news on a big fat sign across Main Street, and Aunt Bee is standing on the curb. My cell phone has attracted her attention. Now she’s watching me.
