I am pleased to say I saw Fred Goss looking his best on an episode of "The Rifleman". Actor Fred Sherman played the part of "Tom", a telegraph operator. His clothes were freshly pressed and he wasn't dribbling food or letting a cigarette dangle from his mouth, dropping ashes. Robert Culp also starred as "Dave Foley" in the same episode which made me wonder if he'd have been Tex's gret-gret-gret granddaddy. That would partly explain why Tex would have chosen to go West in running away from home.
