In The Cannon episode, when Andy explains to Opie about how honesty is the best policy, he leaves the court house and Opie speaks out loud "If honesty is such a great policy, how come I'm out a cap pistol?" He's not exactly speaking to the camera, more like a musing, but it's close enough.
