I really enjoyed watching this classic Don Knotts film Saturday night on
MeTv's "Svengoolie", including the host's many Mayberry references during
the commercial breaks. I never really watched it from beginning to end
before.

There were so many familiar faces, I decided to go on IMDB and research
exactly how many people in the movie had appeared in TAGS. This ended up
taking longer than I thought - I was really surprised at the total.. In
addition to the more famous ones like Barney, Otis, Clara Edwards,
"Hubcaps" Lesh, "Big Maude" Tyler, and Jud, there were *21* other actors
and actresses who had credited or uncredited parts in both the movie and
TAGS, for a grand total of 27 - wow. Plus, there were at least another 6
or 7 folks in the movie who, while not actually appearing in TAGS, had
parts in either, or both, "Mayberry R.F.D." and "Gomer Pyle, USMC".

In addition, I didn't know that Andy himself was an uncredited writer on
the movie, and that longtime writer Everett Greenbaum was the guy who kept
yelling "Atta boy, Luther!" throughout the movie.

All in all, this was some worthwhile research.
