Why? I can't read font size 1 so your sidebar would be illegible to me
and many others. Which means I probably would leave your site rather
quickly.

Though if you feel you must use a font that small (in older versions of
browsers including NN that displays at roughly 6 px since it translate
to the same as extra-small using keywords) at least using relative
sizing means I could change the text size if I had a reason to stay.
Please don't use pts because they are smaller in NN and on a Mac than in
IE both of which can display up to 20% smaller than IE. Use px if you
need to use a fixed size font.

Using Dreamweaver's built in css editor I often found it necessary to
edit the code produced manually to get the css to be exactly what I
wanted. The built-in css editor is somewhat limited. I usually use
TopStyle to create my css. I find the interface even in the free lite
version much better than the one in Dreamweaver and it integrates very
well. (See http://bradsoft.com/topstyle/index.asp for more information.)

Okay this is a silly question, I know, but the coffee has yet to kick in.
I
am using dreamweaver to create css. I want a "sidebar style" to be font
size = 1.
