MOU, this is why I use the percentage widths and total less than 100%. In
many cases this makes browser differences in box sizing a moot issue. If you
have to have a perfect fit, it won't work. But if close is ok and you don't
mind some slight shifts in the right side elements (assuming a 2 or even 3
box columnar setup), it generally works.

Thanks to all for the test.

According my tests and all your feedback, there is
only one problem with Perry's workaround (thank you,
even if you are only the messenger).

Konqueror (tested 2.1.2, wasn't it) does what I
thought IE5/Mac was going to do: it's got a correct
box model, but has the parsing error so it ignores the
hacked property definitions. In a nutshell, this
workaround causes Konqueror to render its boxes too
big.

Everything else works as intended - IE5/Win's box
model is corrected and all other browsers recognise
the corrections we make.

The question is, now, what do we (I) do? The Tantek
hack is ugly as sin, but causes no problems. SBMH is
smaller and quicker, but messes up one compliant
browser's display.

All this only comes into play though when defining a
box with explicit dimensions AND padding/borders. If
no dimension is declared, all browsers render up
properly...

Thoughts? Questions? Comments?
