Jac, Two things come to mind for me when I hear digital tape. DAT (digital audio tape) which would be recorded and played back on a DAT recorder. You could probably rent one, inexpensively, from an Audio /Visual rental company and transfer the files to your computer. The other possibility, as I see it, would be DV( digital video). DV camcorders are getting to be pretty common and may soon be outselling VHS and 8mm. If you or someone you know does not have a DV camcorder, you can rent one of these easily, as well.
