the half-transparent pixels are usually the problem with the text as an
image. Can you not use CSS to write the text? if it has any special effects
and you can not do it in CSS I suggest you look into defringe or matte
option in PS to remove the upsetting pixels. If you have a mnocolored
background you could create the image in PS with the same BGcolor and then
use it without transparency.
