We had it the other way 'round here - I gave in & bought a PC only when we had a long term contract with the BBC three years ago, & were given a pile of 3D applications to evaluate as part of it. BBC's production side were looking at moving into the 21st century... ie virtual reality programme planning rather than sets made out of old cardboard shoeboxes with cardboard cut out figures which was literally how one of our best known children's programmes was planned. I still had my sociologist's hat firmly in place at that stage.... :-)
