WinFax is just the app that sends/receives. Sending can be done through
any kind of connection. Receiving *may* be limited to dial-in, and then
you'd use your dial-in phone #. For receiving, I use efax. For sending,
I use Winfax connected to my cable modem. Efax assigns you a number
when you sign up, and I think there's an option (maybe paid?) to get a
number in your local area. I don't have 'locals' faxing me, so I live
in Chicago but my in-coming fax # is in Revere, MA - go figure. At the
time I signed up (many years ago) they didn't have an option for local
numbers and I didn't care.
