: On your second point, are you saying that if an attachment opens up in the : body of the email, it was actually embedded and not attached in the usual : sense? Would these be blocked as html?
If it is other than plain text , i.e. formatted, it is 99% probable that it is html and yes it would be blocked if the firewall is set to do that, and of course if they have gone to the trouble of blocking html they have probably blocked any attachments. One remedy for that, as your business is "opt in" is to ask your customers for their preferred format..... If they are small businesses and they pay for bandwidth usage on a volume basis, you can always make it a selling point, 'we use plain text email to save you money'. Several of the news mailing lists that I subscribe to send headlines and links to the relevant story, which I far prefer as my in box of some 200 + emails each day takes an age to download, if choked with html emails......lol Michael Ensor www.WellingtonLive.co.nz ----- Original Message ----- From: Steve Miller <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Thursday, June 05, 2003 8:38 AM Subject: [wdvltalk] Re: html email ____ The WDVL Discussion List from WDVL.COM ____ To Join wdvltalk, Send An Email To: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Send Your Posts To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To change subscription settings to the wdvltalk digest version: http://wdvl.internet.com/WDVL/Forum/#sub ________________ http://www.wdvl.com _______________________ You are currently subscribed to wdvltalk as: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
