Ok, sorry if im belaboring the point or haven't yet seen the proper
responses due to my use of the daily digest feature but  the followin cron
entry does what I think you want.

curl -dump http://www.foo.com > "$HOME/curl$(date +\%m\%d\%y\%S).txt"

And thank figuring this out made an otherwise boring day interesting :)
