yes You should be able to log on at that registrar as owner to see all the info but for the general public this is all they see. There should be a control panel at this registrar that allows you to change the DNS and other info.
Thanks, Bob. I am just wondering why, when the general public go check a domain name at whois, they could only see the registrar name, not the registrant (the dn owner) name? Isn't that what you want to know when you go check at "whois"? -- "who is the domain name owner?" Who would want to know who is the dn registrar other than the dn owner self? Am I making any sense?
Currently (after transferring the registrar), I keep my hosting company's DNS registered with my domain name (following what my hosting company told me before transfer). What would happen if I go to Namecheap control panel and change DNS to Namecheap's (they say I can use their's)? What's the benefit (or purpose) for me to do so? and will the DNS change disrupt my website hosted by my hosting company? Thanks for clarifying my questions.
