Namecheap, using eNom's system, now has a distributed network of about 5 DNS servers located in different parts of the US. So the system has higher redundancy and there are less likely to be problems with DNS in the event of system failure or problems. But it depends somewhat on who hosting company is as to whether it is better or not. You may get more control over your DNS by using the Namecheap interface, such as the ability to create subdomains such as members.domain.com or my.domain.com, or host many domains under the same account without additional setup fees, but you also have to be able to configure services at your hosting company to return the correct page for anything you set up to point to the IP number at your hosting company. KFW> and will the DNS change disrupt my KFW> website hosted by my hosting company? No. -Abigail ____ The WDVL Discussion List from WDVL.COM ____ To Join wdvltalk, Send An Email To: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Send Your Posts To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To change subscription settings to the wdvltalk digest version: http://wdvl.internet.com/WDVL/Forum/#sub ________________ http://www.wdvl.com _______________________ You are currently subscribed to wdvltalk as: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
