I put the new hd into my mac, and was able to initialize it no problem, so I know it is good (I did that after having all the problems with the pc, not before).
As for the old hd, I was hoping to try to salvage files from it after installing the new. Will installing a new OS onto it destroy all my old files? > From: "Jon Haworth" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Reply-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Date: Mon, 4 Aug 2003 14:11:14 +0100 > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: [wdvltalk] Re: any pc pros? > > Hi Steve, > >> Funny thing is that if I hook up the old hd, and set the >> computer to boot from "a" first, it will. > > What about installing an OS on the old hd and then trying to add the new one > as a slave once everything's up and running? > > If you can, I'd try your new hd in another machine asap. > > Cheers > Jon > > > ____ The WDVL Discussion List from WDVL.COM ____ > To Join wdvltalk, Send An Email To: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Send Your Posts To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > To set a personal password send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the > words: "set WDVLTALK pw=yourpassword" in the body of the email. > To change subscription settings to the wdvltalk digest version: > http://wdvl.internet.com/WDVL/Forum/#sub > > ________________ http://www.wdvl.com _______________________ > > You are currently subscribed to wdvltalk as: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] > ____ The WDVL Discussion List from WDVL.COM ____ To Join wdvltalk, Send An Email To: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Send Your Posts To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To set a personal password send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the words: "set WDVLTALK pw=yourpassword" in the body of the email.
