No semi colon is necessary for the last item in css but is a good idea in case you decide to add something later or as mentioned by someone else copy and past the whole thing as part of another class or in another document. Double semi colons don't usually cause a problem but one missing in the middle of the attribute list is one of the more frequent causes of css not working as expected.
Re bouncing mail, I got one from you that I sent while still in London. When I have a chance I'll resend it. If all goes well and the conference isn't 'postponed' again I'm planning on going back for it next July. Maybe we can meet up then.
