page title that did exist may certainly be a clue, another meta tag that you should look at using: <meta http-equiv="Cache-Control" Content="max-age=3600, must-revalidate"> but I am not sure that anyone can help you unless we see the code for the 'offending page' , perhaps you could post it on another link so we could take a look?
Normally you would expect to be spidered by Google at least once a month, but as I mentioned in #2 the pages are not search engine friendly and it could be the spiders are simply not seeing current content...... Another problem potentially: you may have noticed a reference in the google link I posted to http if changed etc......: well most servers do this automatically for static pages but maybe with all that js they are being treated as dynamic pages by the spiders and will tend to be ignored,,I don't have a reference for that immediately to hand unfortunately. response to second email follows >>>>next post www.WellingtonLive.co.nz ----- Original Message ----- From: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Wednesday, October 29, 2003 11:06 PM Subject: [wdvltalk] Re: google anomaly : Thanks Michael. I know this is a page of the renalsociety website, that's : not the issue. I am the developer, and we get plenty of referrals. And the : link is pointing to a Word doc, so I can't do much there. The mystery is, : why does the Google listing give a page title that doesn't exist on the : site (but did exist a year ago - is this a clue?), and link this to a : totally different page that does exist on the site? I would treat it as : just another little mystery except that the sponsoring company has : complained. --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
