The line endings are
DOS/Win - \r\n Mac - \r Unix - \n
For a Linux server you might want to change
$data[$r] = str_replace("\r", "\r\n", $data[$r]);
to
$data[$r] = str_replace("\r", "\n", $data[$r]);
