You don't have to live in the boondocks to be stuck on dial-up. My in-laws
live in the Denver metro area and can't get broadband. I was talking to
someone tonight who was just able to get cable last week after 3 years of
trying, two houses further down they still can't get it and he lives in the
middle of Houston. They are too far from a switch and the old copper in
their subdivision won't support DSL so until all the wires are upgraded
inside and outside the houses it isn't available.

I know people in Dallas who are also stuck on dial-up due to old phone lines
that have too much interference for DSL.

I generally exit sites that use frames unless i REALLY need the information.
Ditto for sites that use Flash for more than an intro. Disclaimer: i live
in the mountains (genuine, for-real, boondocks) and have dial-up only.
