No, but margin would. In the stylesheet "menuExpandable.css", replace
the current rule "li.menubar" with:
li.menubar {
font-size: 12px;
line-height: 1.5em;
list-style: none;
margin:15px 0;
}
adjusting the vertical margin as necessary.

Sounds like this might be the "IE peek-a-boo" bug [1], but I am unable
to replicate it on IE6 WinXP, so I can't confirm that. Take a look at
Big John's description and see if that helps. Also, what OS are you
using?
