I use the following format for including a subject:
<a href="mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Development and Design - About Us Page">[EMAIL PROTECTED]</a>
I use the javascript program that changes the email "mailto" to ASCII code. I don't use the method you show below, but I'm sure you can modify it to include a subject for your email.

Hi all,
I just used this on a website and was wondering if there is a way to add a subject to the e-mail? I tried something along the same lines but it just appended itself onto the e-mail address.
TIA, Riva
<script language="javascript" type="text/javascript" src="contact/beau.js"></script>
that references the script for each address and I keep track of them
in the folder/directory by using the last name in the
src="contact/beau.js". Here's the javascript, update the username and
hostname variables to suit:
var username = "somename"; var hostname = "shaw.ca"; var linktext = username + "@" + hostname; document.write("<a href=" + "mail" + "to:" + username + "@" + hostname + ">" + linktext + "</a>")
