No problem, if the email subject stays the same you can do this which
just uses the extended features of the mailto: link and
document.write it out:
var username = "somename";
var hostname = "shaw.ca";
var linktext = username + "@" + hostname;
document.write("<a href=" + "mail" + "to:" + username + "@" +
hostname + "?subject=email%20subject%20here" + ">" + linktext +
"</a>")
