I did a similar thing and then went direct to Apple's site and priced up a full spec Dual G5 (that's right 8Gb RAM and TWO of those loverly 30" panels). It worked out at something like £10K (about $17K at the moment - yes we do get ripped off in the UK) and I sobbed.
However Apple would do a finance offer where I could pay something like £75 per month for the rest of my life...and I very nearly agreed!
Such is the temptation of the Apple...is that why they went with "Apple"? So tempting, one bite and you're world opens up so much you're screwed?
