You're right, of course, Howard. The code is really more like
a img href="#nogo" onmouseover="myfunction()"

That was my fear. Thanks for confirming. I had wanted to determine
the index from inside the function so that the function could be more
global, and easier to use.

This won't work because i'm using the function to change the zIndex
of the image, and I want it to stay changed rather than return to
its original state when the mouse is moved off.
