Hi all,
I got some more information about the insurance program I am thinking
about writing. It seems pretty straight forward so far. They want to
be able to call up a client alphabetically. Once the client is pulled
up, there is the usual information (spouse, address, etc.) and a list of
the client's policies. They want to be able to click on each policy and
view the policy and the correspondence associated with that policy.
Seems fine so far. The guy also said "We have to be able to
import/export this information as and when required, by means of email,
fax and or scanner." That part I would have trouble with but I guess I
could figure it out. I told them to find out on their side about any
laws, restrictions, etc. that would go along with this. They also want
to be able to access the database from anywhere on the network or via a
laptop after hours.
Any ideas/feedback/comments? 90% of this I know I can do. Should I
figure out the other 10% or not even attempt this? What language would
I write this in? I know VB (although a little rusty), Perl (not sure it
can do the job) and have just started learning Java. Any ideas would be
much appreciated.
TIA,
Riva
