Hi all,

I created an animated gif for a website I am working on. The problem is that it comes out grainy when it is on the web page - is there anything I can do to "optimize" the pictures (they are .jpg files) so that the animation will look clearer? (I created it with GIMP) It can be seen at http://www.starqualitydesigns.com/blums/index.htm

TIA,
Riva

Higher quality jpgs (ie less compressed) to start with might give you a slightly better end result, but you have the usual trade off where the file size of the animated gif would be too big for those who aren't on broadband connections. But it's the jpg-to-gif that's the prob I think. Might a javascript slideshow using the jpgs themselves be a better solution, preloading the images first?
