I disagree here. I refuse to submit to DMOZ anymore. There really isn't a reason to and you'll find if you hop on over to www.highrankings.com Jill Whalen's boards and do some hunting you'll find the reasons for not submitting to DMOZ. Even Jill herself says not to bother and I do believe in one or more of the posts she may even mention that it can be a detriment to the site.

One of my own top reasons is that about 8most ago or so I found out that Google uses DMOZ in some fashion. Well, I wound up having a very very very old DMOZ entry "stuck" in my description results after a search for eons. Couldn't figure out where it was coming from as it wasn't coming from my site. This one little thing affected my rankings and try to get someone at DMOZ to change anything? Don't hold your breath. I'm sure all the people who volunteer there are very nice but they're also very overworked as DMOZ is all manual labor. They just can't keep up for one thing. So, my advice is to check out Jill's boards and do a double think before submitting there.
