Sorry. Was just sorting through three weeks of mail and was about to get
to the catchall mail to wrap it up:
1. She's doing fine. We managed to get her into University hospitals
here in Iowa City for a second opinion (an amazing place). She got one
of the top ten specialists in the country on a random clinic visit. He
went in and double-checked the original lumpectomy, and did the lymph
node survey. Luckily he did 27 nodes (instead of average 8 to 10). It
appeared in the 24th node they surveyed.
She's just started 6 weeks of radiation, and can't get out of the
necessary 6 weeks of chemo, so we're kind of down about that. however,
as the doc says, beyond that (which isn't really bad given the
alternative), we're looking at a "serious inconvenience" and probably
nothing worse.
Thanks immensely to all who sent me site suggestions (the response was
really overwhelming). She's been using the list regularly :)
2. Grats, Chad, on the new job. :) Glad to hear everything is going
well.
3. Welcome back, Brent :)
4. Spent the first week at the new job laying the groundwork. can't
believe how lucky I got :) Only question is likely to be how far in
over my head I might be *chuckle*
The difference between clients that say "Do this." and "What if?" has a
profound effect on one's attitude.
Sorry to bombard everyone with catch-up mail all at once. Will likely be
quiet again for next month as I wrap up business in Iowa City and get
moved to DC. Amazing how all of my previously poor clients suddenly have
money for last minute upgrades now that I'm leaving town :P
Still monitoring, just exercising control over my tendencies to post for
a while ;)
