About 15 minutes after the offer mentioned in the last email came in, I
had another bomb dropped on me. My stepmother was diagnosed with breast
cancer this week. *sigh*
Fortunately, it's been caught early and the prospects are good. She's
craving information though, and has tried the Web but there's so much out
there, all of it different, that she's more confused than calmed by the
experience. I've tried to lend a hand, but feel about the same way after
my initial forays to the search engines.
Anyone have the unfortunate need to do research in this area before that
can help me point her to the actually *useful* and trustworthy cancer
information sites, and possibly to some women's support-oriented sites
as well? In particular, a place where other women have shared their
experiences would be ideal.
Sorry for the off-topic issue, but there's a lot out there and it's
the kind of thing you'd like to have site *references* for, as opposed to
just a list of sites . . . too much at stake. Would appreciate any
experience list members might be able to share on this one. (Will be
happy to summarize and post this to web later as well for the benefit of
anyone else who might be able to use it . . .).
Feel free to drop me ideas/suggestions off-list ([EMAIL PROTECTED]).
Unending thanks in advance,
B
