They have already destroyed the USENET so that no one of any serious
mind posts there anymore, lest he or she find a tide of e-mail flowing his
way.
I met many friends, learned of many interesting mailing lists on the
USENET news forums in 1992 - 1993. By 1995, it was too polluted to be
worth while. They killed one of the best places to meet interesting
people! Utterly destroyed it!

I would not go that far. CLOSE!!! But not quite that far. Maybe
hook up five text to speech converters, up the volume and project them on
all four walls, ceiling, and floor of the prison cell, and let it go 24
hours non-stop for a month Oh yes, and DO up the volume quite a bit on
the ALL CAPS WORDS!!! (And for safety sake, randomize the words on all
attempts to sell e-mailing lists, just in case they might get accidently
brainwashed to repeat their offenses.)
