This hysteria over Y2K is getting tiresome.  I'm not talking
about you Kathy, but about all these suits on the lecture circuit
and book tours making a fortune over what is essentially an
easy-to-understand, easy-to-fix, trivial buglet.  Most of the
anxious hand-wringing that's going on is coming from people
so far back in the dark ages that they're still running Cobol,
for crying out loud -- an indication that they have far *worse*
problems than dealing with Y2K issues.

I find myself wishing that this kind of attention would be
focused on real problems -- the ones that are difficult to
understand and difficult to fix.  But I suppose that wouldn't
play as well on the evening news.

Nor would it line the pockets of the pundits and overpriced
Y2K consultants.
