     Well, some of it may sound overblown, and some is.  But... it is not
trivial.  

     * Much of the code is badly written in the first place
     * Much of the documentation was badly done, if at all
     * The writers have left
     * Compiler leases may have expired
     * Compilers were upgraded, and the code might not even compile
     * Date assumptions will not be the same for all date fields
         (E. G. birth date will not change.)
     
    Then there are a few questions...

     * Should the programs continue to handle both data formats?
     * Should conversion utilities be written?
     * Should old media be re-used, or generate new media
          (E.G. old tapes to CD-ROM's?)

    However, most people will use common sense and the stores will not
close, neither will the banks.

     SIgh... I have this Y2K tool...  but I just don't know how to sell
it.
