Jack,

It sounds like it's an internal situation, however, you can hedge your bets by
offering to attend one or more of these company meetings as a technical resource
so you can field questions about what can be done with the web.  If she agrees,
it will give you an inside look as to what they are looking to do, AND give you
a better chance of being the one to do it.
