Most often the extra space happens between the last and next to last lines
of a paragraph, and I can't find anything at all in the code that would
cause it.

It's a quirky thing: I just went to make a screen capture of the page that
was giving me fits last night, and today it looks fine. No weird breaks,
hypertext neatly underlined. Go figure.

The underlining thing could be a video driver issue. It shouldn't be video
ram, as I've got a 4mb ATI card running a 17" monitor, which should be more
than accurate. I've also noticed that it screws up Quark files too.
