I've been working on rollovers for a project, using a Javascript from the
Nick Heinle book. But I've gotten really stuck and would appreciate help
from anyone with a keen eye for Javascript.
This is a nav bar that will end up being the bottom of a frames page:

The images are still rough on the versions you're looking at. We're
cleaning them up, so pay no attention to the raggedness. In particular, the
hint of purple that shows up behind "purchase TLC" will be gone, and the
type need not be activated onMouseover.
The first problem that I'm having is that the images aren't loading
correctly. They show up as broken links, and only show up after you mouse
over them. I've used the same script on another page with good results.
The second problem is that on "SplashBotBg.htm" Dave has split the icons up
into 7 images, with each section of type being a separate image from the
icons themselves. There is no need for the type to be loaded twice, since
it doesn't activate onMouseover - -only the icons activate. However,
whenever I've tried to leave the type image info out of the javascript and
the table html, the images won't load at all. In fact, if I paste the HTML
for one of the type images outside of the table and completely separate
from all the other stuff, it still won't load. If there's no way to get
just one copy of each type image to load, it probably would make more sense
just to make 3 big images instead of 7 images. I could do that, but it's
still making me a little crazy that I can't get the type images to load as
regular (non-rollover) images.
Can you see anyway to tweak what I've done? Or can you recommend another
approach?
