Nope, this code will not work with pre-NS4x, period. Between its use of JS 1.2 and
CSS, it's the kiss o' death to older browsers.
This is not an issue in my specific application, because the project is behind a tight
firewall: if you're not using an approved machine with approved software, you don't
get in to the site. Simplifies my life a lot, that's for sure.
