The only reliable way I've found is is to nest another  two cell 
table, one for the text and one for the image. I then cut and paste 
the text until its even with the bottom of the image, continuing the 
rest of the text outside the table

BTW I used Dreamweaver after I built the page to tweak the table 
cell widths, having added the border halfway through, changing all 
those TD widths was driving me crazy.
