Oddly, I have had the exact opposite experience: offline, IE 4 is deadly
slow on my Mac 8500 running OS8.1, while NS 4 is very fleet-footed and a
pleasure to use. I wonder if there's some difference between the G3 and
8500 architecture that would account for the diffference.
