Amazingly, and much to my chagrin <G>, MS IE v4.01 for the Mac has proven
to be stable and quite functional. It works well. And it pains me to say
that! ;-)
I also find Communicator to be slower than IE in downloading pages and in
loading pages from my hard drive, so slow it's sometimes painful. A web
page on my hard drive that is, say, 40Kb total size (images and HTML) can
take up to 10 seconds to display (I emphasize I'm talking about loading a
local page!). In IE it's just a few seconds. And I'm running a very fast
Mac. There is no excuse for Communicator to be so slow.
Frankly, I find Communicator v4 for the Mac to be pretty poor. It was much
better on my PC. But it seems that not everyone using Communicator on a Mac
shares my experience. I don't have an explanation for this.
