I'm curious -- when you folks who resell space were looking for your ISP,
what terms did you search under? Were you searching for specific features
(i.e. did you search for the names of those services)? Were there sites that
gave you a list of reselling ISPs? Did you notice any banner ads for
reselling hosting -- and if you did, did you click on any of them?
I'm helping our ISP with his promo efforts -- he's making a big push for
four of his services, and one of them is his reseller shared hosting
accounts. We're currently looking into banner ads, sponsorships of email
newsletters (developer.com is one we're looking at), stuff like that. We're
updating his page text, adding to his meta tags, resumbitting him to Search
Engines, sending out press releases, and (of course) trying to find all the
good places to get links. I've gotten some great ideas on how to promote his
other services, but I'm wondering if we're missing something in the area of
reseller hosting, since neither he nor I have actually *shopped* for an ISP
in the past 3 years! So, I'd really appreciate any insights from those of
you who have been shopping for a reseller ISP.
