I already bought that book.

Okay, wait a second here. We are talking about CF - Cold Fusion. The
question is what platforms CF will run on. That is what I asked (I
asked nothing about web servers).

right, I was pretty sure about that. Not linux or bsd. That was my
question.

Yes, and that is exactly what I said going back to my very first
post. But I would argue that the person who took the time, effort,
and courage to learn something like perl/dbi would be more likely ...
but this is getting old already.

Seems that someone else understood my point; can't recall who it was.
It is not a question of server; it is a question of O/S.
Ummm.... let me try to put this another way to try and get the
answer.
Imagine your computers crash and burn. You go out and buy new
computers. Allaire has went out of business or someone bought them
and no one is selling Cold Fusion any more. The only copies left are
those who once bought and still have. Can you just re-write your
code? If you could then great. Otherwise you make yourself
dependent on more than just knowledge and expertise.
If the above happened to me I would just buy a new computer, load up
linux, connect to the net and download all the modules etc. that
exist everywhere as they are free and no one owns them and thus no
one can go out of business or get bought up. I then would just re-
write all my code.
I think this thread has gone on long enough. Beginning to waste
bandwidth.
