Good question, and I can't think of a good answer. I'm still wrestling
with the value of eye candy like this. Someone on this list (Susan,
maybe?) said that eye candy is like a receptionist's smile - a virtual
"G'day!". It's a great analogy. But we all know that eye candy can be
taken too far.
The world animation gives the user something cute to discover for
themselves in 5 x 2K images. Is it worth 10K? Beats me.
What do you think?
(If anyone knows of some good analytical articles on this, please post a
reference.)
