Hey Jim,
Great minds must think alike! :-) Yesterday I signed up at mcp.com and
checked out Red Hat Unleashed. The chapters I've read have helped. At least
now I don't have to login as root, which scared the daylights out of me.
I will definitely get Linux in a Nutshell, so thanks to all who suggested it.
My main problem now is that I want to do everything right this minute. I
feel like a little kid learning to skate, and it does my 38-year-old heart a
world of good.
And now I "get" some of the jokes at least. I'm finally pronouncing it better
too, getting past the long i habit. But do I really have to pronounce it with
a long u?
