I usually work at 1024 x 800. The image at the link above has rectangles for
these screen sizes:

540w x 480h (for those narrow at low-res default Mac windows)
640w x 480h (PC min)
800w x 640h (PC middle)

1280 x 800 is not represented, because for me that's full screen.

You can load the page above, open your browser window as far as it will go
and just leave it running during your design session. When you want to test
your design at different sizes, just resize your browser to fit the lines.
If you care about the "vertical scrolling factor", be sure to check your
layout using the different button configurations of your browser, too, since
some people use large buttons with images on them (which means less real
estate in the browser pane).

You could also download the gif, convert it to whatever image file is
appropriate for your OS's "desktop" and use it as your desktop's background,
so it'll always be available.

Add new lines for other window sizes, change the colors, etc as you see fit.
