I wish. The solution to this problem is impeded by corporate
silliness. Though it's a web delivered system, the registration process
belongs to the Operations Division. Therefore, their programmers, not
those of us in Communications, manage it. If we were given the code, or
access to a second copy to run tests on, we might find the solution (and
then it wouldn't be in Operations much longer . . .).

Now, it's not like you can put code on a server and I can't find it
(*innocent whistle*), but there's no way I could get a second copy up and
running (this thing is configured for two RS6000s as servers, another one
for Oracle, and a fourth one doing round robin (slight overkill there,
eh?)). Even if I could get permission to put one up, the reconfig time
would be outrageous.

Making matters worse, they know I'm quitting in the next month ;) (As
soon as I finish closing the deal on Monday morning, I'll let ya know
where I'm going :) ). Thus, there's a general paranoia about giving a
lame duck webmaster-emeritus access to new projects at the last minute.

Gotta love corporate america.

However, all the more reason to find the problem . . . . no better
parting gift to such an environment than to do so, force the programmer
switch issue and leave the rest of the web team (all of whom I hired or
helped hire after I stepped down as webmaster) with some leverage and a
little chaos to exercise it within :)

I might be able to swing a username and password that is hardwired to not
register when completed that I could provide to a handful of people who
thought having it might make a difference. Shouldn't be hard to set up,
just a matter of careful politicking. I'll check on Monday morning, and
if I can do it will invite anyone interested to give it a whirl.

Brett
